St. John’s Episcopal Church

Lafayette Square, Washington, D.C.

St. John’s is a 200-year-old historic church across Lafayette Park from the White House. Scope includes replacement of the Bell Tower exterior, replacement of the slate roof, and refurbishment of the 1822 Revere bell. Project is in construction after receiving approvals from HPRB, the Federal Commission for the Arts, and the National Capitol Planning Commission.  It is a landmark case for the use of alternate materials that are identical in look to the historic fabric.
